Bio

Renee Atkinson is a Quilt Designer and Artist, she was featured in the March 2025 issue of Quilting Arts magazine. She is an Island Batik Ambassador partnering with Hobbs Batting, Oliso Irons, Aurifil Thread, Schmetz Needles, Bags By Annie and Studio 180 Designs. Pink Tulip Quilting’s name is in honor of her mom, Mary, who was an avid gardener and jewelry designer.

You can find select items at Uptown Girl Novelties in New Baltimore and Starkweather Arts Center in Romeo, Michigan. Her Etsy site has quilts, table runners, wall hangings plus vintage fabrics, laces, trims, and craft books.

Renee’s work has been juried and curated at the Muskegon Art Museum, Ann Arbor Library Special Exhibits, Paint Creek Center for the Arts, Anton Art Center, Flagstar Strand Gallery, Northville Art House, The Gallery at Brewery Park, and Starkweather Art Center.

Renee is a member of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), Surface Design Associates (SDA) and the Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors (DSWPS), as a poet for Power in Poetry Experience of Detroit (PIPED).  She is a mom of three and grandma of 6.
