PINK TULIP PARTY TGIFF-APRIL 11!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!Click here to enter

Hello! Welcome to the Party!

Welcome!!! TGIFF – Thank Goodness Its Finished Friday on the Pink Tulip Quilting blog – we open Thursday evening and close Saturday at midnight to allow bloggers from all over the world to post their finished quilt projects.

The party rules are simple – share your quilting finish (or almost finish) for this week. The linky party is open from 6 pm on Thursday, April 11th through midnight on Saturday, April 13th. Two lucky bloggers will win my quilt pattern, Life is better on a Bicycle.

For those who don’t know me, I am a Healthcare Regulatory Specialist during the day and creative in the evening. I paint, quilt and also write poetry. I am a mom of three and grandmother of 6. I am featured in the Spring 2025 issue of Quilting Arts magazine.

What I will be TGIFF sharing is a quilt top just finished that incorporates Yukata cotton, modern cottons, brocades and applique. I am sending it off to my longarmer, Ruth McCormick, this weekend!

I have a passion for oriental design. I have a series of Koi fabric collage and I have created about 10 quilts that were Asian inspired. So Yukata cotton was a natural magnet for me and I found a great source of genuine vintage Yukata at Okan Arts. Okan Arts specializes in Yukata cotton and Ikat Wool straight from Japan. They also do fiber tours that I would love to go on but my arthritis keeps me home.

I have many scraps left over from all of my Asian quilts (examples are above). So I combined them and was finally able to compile the blocks together (see below). I was not keen about the white spaces, so I added angular pieces of the leftover Yukata cottons seen on either side of the quilt. I will take the quilt top and back along with a package of Hobbs batting to my longarmer. Ruth McCormick is a great longarmer and wonderful collaborator. Check out Pink Tulip Quilting’s IG to see the quilting.

I cannot wait to see the quilts finished this week!! Enjoy!

I will contact on IG the randomly selected two winners of the Life is Better on a Bicycle Quilt pattern.

Is this the post for linking with TGIFF? I can’t find a link party to click on?

Hi Renee! I enjoy using yukata fabrics, too, so I was interested in seeing your latest creations using yukata and Japanese fabrics! Thanks for hosting TGIFF and commenting on my blogs, too! (Your email addy didn’t show up so I couldn’t reply directly.)

Hey Nancy, Thanks for playing along! Now that I know how it works, I can participate more!

I just learned today that Okan Arts my favorite Yukata shop has closed their online shop! If you know of a good source, let me know! See you at the next event!
