December 2025 Island Batik Challenge It’s Up To You

Project Details:
- Project Type: Table Runners, Fabric Boxes and Mug Rugs
- Fabric: Island Batik Autumn Twilight

Lumin Fabrics and its partners provided the products used in this challenge.
Loved the Autumn Twilight Line, a collection by Jerry Khiev for Raija Salomaa of Quilter’s Treasure Chest which I used in the May Island Batik Ambassador Challenge-Irish Chain. I wanted to use it again for Autumn table runners, fabric boxes, and mug rugs. This was one of my favorite 2025 Lumin Fabrics’ collections and such a perfect name for the beautiful fabric choices!

I created 4 table runners, 4 fabric boxes, and oodles of mug rugs! I used Hobbs batting left over from various projects. The mug rugs were embellished with appliques cut from the AccuQuilt Fall Medley die. Before starting on the project, I cleaned the bobbin housing on my Brother Dreamweaver. I also installed a new Schmetz vinyl needle. My Oliso Project Iron was perfect for these projects!!! Aurifil blues were the perfect thread choice.

I keep special finished inventory available as gifts for friends who stop by or family who always let me know their favorite. Some items have already been gifted and each person loved the fabric!
