A miniature quilt is a wonderful way to explore a piecing or quilting technique or make a pattern without a huge investment in time and fabric. They are defined as small versions of full sized quilts and range in size between 12 to 24 inches on a side to being no larger than 24 inches square. Island Batik provided several resource links for quilt blocks and one was for tulips from Inspired by Fabric.

Before I started the project, I cleaned my Brother Dreamweaver’s bobbin case and switched out the Schmetz needle. I love using my Oliso Smart Iron and Oliso Wool Mat together to press my blocks flat! (Use my Missouri Start Quilt Company Affiliate Link to earn 20% off $50 or more. I used Hobbs Heirloom Premium Cotton Batting for the tulip table runner and a hotpad made from a leftover pinwheel block.

I wanted to make a companion to my mini quilt, and I needed a new Pink Tulip Quilting apron, so I used the tulip mini block from Podunk Pretties to embellish a white apron I had purchased on Amazon. I embroidered Pink Tulip Quilting on the apron with my Bernina 750.

The products featured in this post were given to me by Island Batik. Here are the Island Batik Ambassadors for 2024, check out their wonderful minis!!! This is the Island Batik blog.
